Rice Eccles Stadium

In the eye of the storm.

Through a good friend/roommate I was able to get on top of the Rice Eccles Stadium roof and shoot some photos. It was a little nippy but nothing a jacket couldn't take care of. Just looking down into the field is, Woah. After being up there for awhile we headed to the elevator to be joined by two supervisors and two cops who had noticed us from 400s. The photo doesn't load to a very large size on here so I will also post it on my facebook. check it out @ facebook.com/jakevivori.

SLUG - Beat the Pro

SLUG Magazine - Beat the Pro.  Garrett and I started out early arriving at The Canyons before 7:20 am to load our tent and product onto the gondola before any lift would see a bottom hit the seat.  It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for an exciting competition.

One Love!
These riders were dedicated hiking the middle section of Respect all day. Much respect.

Chris Grenier above and below showed me that East Coast vibe of just having fun. (above, one of his perfectly executed methods.  below stomping a stylish switch fs540 tailgrab)

Bjorn Leines was there with some of the Celtek (also sponsored the event) crew laying it down.
The man on the sled is the man who made it happen, Steve Duke, he is the man in charge of the terrain parks at The Canyons and is one of the most pleasant, respectable guys to work with.

Daylight was against us and our bodies were getting tired Steve and Zach whipped riders up to the top via snowmobiles to get things going a little faster.  The rider in the picture was throwing down all day and was the event winner for the Open division.
Congratulations Andy Kantola!

2-4-2009

The Avenues bring character to Salt Lake City and the people that reside in the Avenues bring brilliance.

6th Avenue has the accessibility of the inner city and with the greatest longboard cruise to Smith's Marketplace, the summer could never be better.

The 6th Avenue bus route goes right above Greek Row to the corner of N Street and 6th Avenue making my rides home from school very simple. UTA!

A house bearing beautiful directions including the lizards crawling on the face of the house.  I have a couple panorama's of houses during the winter in the Avenues that will be posted later.

In my route to school I take trax three stops, from the 900 East station to the Library station, then I proceed West a block to catch the 200 bus (State Street Route) to school.  Here are a few pictures along the journey.

City Hall.
The three pictures above were taken at City Hall.

Courthouse.
The 200 bus route stops in front of the Courthouse. It always smells like bacon.

The Coffee Connection.
It makes sense knowing drivers are going in the direction of the letters but isn't it easier to read left to right?  The American way.
